Akira Kurosawa (1910-1998) was a prominent Japanese director. "The Seven Samurais" premiered in April 1954 and attracted a lot of attention in Europe and the US. At the Venice Film Festival the movie was awarded the Silver Lion.

The production is played in the abandoned swimming pools in Kadriorg, which will be afterwards demolished.
