TADaC is a new student dance company from the Theatre Academy of Finland. The five dancers who perform the night's programme combine their second year Master's degree studies with professional work in a whole new way. Under the artistic direction of Jenni Kivelä TADaC presents works by outstanding Finnish choreographers works have been commissioned from choreographers who represent different views of the world, different ways of working and different styles.
TADaC program 2008 consists of one longer work by Jenni Kivelä (b.1974) and three shorter ones choreographed by Ervi Sirén (b.1948), Jyrki Karttunen (b.1969) and Maria Saivosalmi(b.1980) & Andrius Katinas (b.1978). Also a dance videogame/installation by Ari Tenhula (b.1964) is included in the program. This latest project of the Dance Department, TADaC, was created to give the students an idea of working in a professional dance company already before graduation. It is also the first company in any Scandinavian higher educational establishments that is based on a professional company model and has its own producer. After performing in Estonia the tour continues in Finland, Canada, Sweden, France, Lithuania and England.

Helsinki Theatre Academy is one of the most influential theatre and dance educational establishments in Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. The dance department, created in 1983, aims to prepare gifted dance artists in a most versatile way. In the program one finds theoretical as well as practical classes to obtain dance techniques, choreography creating skills and in-depth perspectives in performing arts generally, training both body and mind. In addition to performances the mutual workshops will be given in Tallinn and Viljandi purpose is to share TADaC's experiences in practical training sessions as well as in discussions over creativity and performing with estonian dance students. The workshop is lead by Ari Tenhula from the Helsinki Theatre Academy, Tiina Ollesk and Rene Nõmmik from Tallinn University and Raido Mägi from the Viljandi Culture Academy.
