The aim of this musical drama is to introduce Estonian freedom fight to wider audiences.

The play, written by Lauri Vahtre and Mart Laar is a documentary, which describes the life of Auleid Toomsalu, who was a guerrilla fighter hiding in the forest in the post Second World War Estonia.

In the past few months the need to talk more about the tragic events that took place during those years in order to give a true picture of Estonians fight for freedom is emphasised. But the play is more than merely a historical retrospect, for it is a story of love and hate, friendship and betrayal.

The play uses songs, which were originally sung by Võru County's guerrillas.
