Ann is a simple girl. She goes to school and lives her young life just as she wishes. Unfortunately her mother has a different idea of what Ann's life should be. When she intervenes in a concert at school, Ann has had enough and protests. The conflict flares up when Ann finds her mother's old journals and learns that her father was actually her stepfather, and the bourgeois mask of her mother actually hides wild teenage years. Ann's world comes crumbling down and she runs away from home to a small seaside village. There she comes across with painful life decisions and problems of being independent. It is not easy to grow up.
