This production is a reflection of the story of Estonia gaining independence, and its title Late Winter 1918 depicts the time the audience is taken to: although Estonia has been declared an independent country, the German occupation has again crushed all hopes regarding the future - just like snow in March can kill the feeling of spring for a moment.

Late Winter 1918 shows the audience events in the countryside, at a looted manor. The owner of the manor, a middle-aged count, an intellectual, comes to say good-bye to his former home. In this disconsolate place begins the love-story of the count and his secretary, an Estonian girl...
