Nostalgic comedy

"Once Estonia seemed like a fairy tale land, just because it was a free country. Now the country has been restored and properties returned. Where is now the fairytale? Is something left of it at all?" (Tõnu Õnnepalu)

Contemporary Estonian literature and drama classic Andrus Kivirähk looks at the generation of soviet-nostalgic people, now in their thirties. A play about those who are obsessed by the change of common ideals and dreams after the social order was changed. A story about remembering and forgetting. There is an old-style birthday party, where vodka is drunk and the good old times recalled. Misunderstandings between generations causes nearly tragic obstinacy, and quite few jokes go too far.

A play for those who long for a different world...
