The film is a subtle and insightful description of the relationship between a mother and a daughter, childhood experiences, the choices to make when being in the roles of both a woman and an artist. The film Autumn Sonata was finished in 1979, starring Ingrid Bergman and Liv Ullmann but this fascinating text has also been performed at theatres across the world.
